Loop AI Labs was the world’s first independent AI company and private research lab. While the world was still unaware of the AI revolution set to unleash infinite productivity, we were already validating and deploying deep learning breakthroughs and AI agents on our platforms with leading organizations.

Even before AI went mainstream, our research intuition showed that neural nets, deep learning, and LLMs were rapidly approaching a hard ceiling. They might eventually gain speedups from quantum hardware, but they could never tap its full power or its underlying first principles. We stated this clearly in 2018 (see video below).

The Fundamental Limits of Neural Networks

Current neural network architectures, can excel only in narrow tasks and their design is fundamentally limited. Even massive GPU clusters in terawatt-scale data centers cannot overcome these hard boundaries—constrained by classical probability, the power grid, and strict token limits. At best, they offer incremental progress. They cannot deliver the breakthroughs humanity urgently needs.

From Pioneers to Visionaries

As the first to deploy neural nets in real-world enterprise applications in 2012, years of research and implementation revealed a fundamental limit. Even though these architectures far outperformed traditional, non-neural-net AI, scaling them could never deliver the breakthrough needed to uncover the questions that unlock the world’s most important problems. Long before the 2022 AI hype, we recognized that true progress required stepping beyond neural nets entirely and building from a quantum-first foundation, Quantum-Native AI.

This is Quantum-Native AI. Unlike classical architectures, it uses the first principles of quantum computing to break the probabilistic and scaling limits of neural networks, enabling first-principles simulation of extraordinarily complex systems—from the human body to other intricate natural phenomena—that classical, neural-net-based AI could not handle even at a tiny fraction of their scale, even with every GPU and all the electricity on Earth for the next ten years.
